The King Has Donkey Ears (2013)
This project developed from the interest in psychology of the people who scrawl the messages in the public space. I found the similar situation in the old fairy tale titled The King Has Donkey Ears. In the story, the crown maker promised to keep the secret that the king has donkey ears. But in the end, he failed to keep his promise any longer and fled deep into a bamboo forest and shouted into the trees "The king has donkey ears!" I offer the audience perfectly private spaces to enjoy expressing themselves in this project. The poll booth installed in some places and paper & pens installed in public restroom would help people feel free to express their desire. Uncensored notes collected from this places will be categorized according to the issue economy/social/entertain and be opened in the Jungdabang gallery.
* In the exhibition space, people could continue to participate in writing notes(doodle). I opened the collected box once in 3 days and added the notes on the diagram. |
